A Beautiful Night for All the People

Branding

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art has commissioned us to create identity, digital campaign and a website for its key project, Triennial of Russian Contemporary Art. This year's exhibition, called "A Beautiful Night for All the People", explores corruption and love, hierarchies and connections in Russian society. We designed a collage system that embodies a myriad of meanings responding to the different aspects of the event and works both in physical and digital spaces.

Curators Valentin Diaconov and Anastasia Mityushina delegated their curation expertise to the artists of 2017 triennial: all artists were chosen by other artists. We reflected this concept by using faces of the artists mixed with visual symbols from the narratives of Roman Mikhailov, the author of the book from which the name of the exhibition was derived. The traces as a rendering style were inspired by the architectural concept: the relationship types were set as cartographic toponyms in the exhibition area.
